Inspired by the opening line from Charles Dickens' A Tale Of Two Cities: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..." the mug features an updated illustration of the famous Madame Defarge, who had a penchant for knitting while watching the beheadings at the guillotine. Although she's technically the villain in the novel, I can't help but admire her zest for vengeance against the ruling class, her passionate support of the Revolution, and her mastery of knitting techniques. We are certainly living through dark times, and I find myself wishing a grisly fate to every powerful politician who votes against women.
